Elena "Baby Doll" Reid 5’3, Southpaw, Bantamweight Twenty three year old Phoenix native Elena "Baby Doll" Reid lives and trains in Las Vegas,Nevada. She began boxing at age 15, and says her interest in the sweet science was sparked by a “guy friend.” An all around athlete while she was in school, she participated in soccer, basketball, softball, volleyball and cheerleading. Elena did not have an amateur boxing career but her combat sports career in karate and kickboxing led her to the Arizona state kickboxing title when she was seventeen years old. Currently trained by Chris Ben along with Cornelius Boza-Edwards, Elena has battled many of the best on her way to a championship and an impressive 17-2-5 record. One of those fights was a disappointing 10 round draw against Germany’s Regina Halmich for the WIBF flyweight title in September 2004. Since that draw, Elena has gone on to fight Lakeysha Williams in January, 2005 earning a TKO with a spectacular body shot. This was followed by her first loss in 20 fights in March 2005 to Alicia Ashley during which Elena suffered a severe cut above her eye earning Ashley a seventh round TKO. Elena rebounded in July, 2005 with a dominating victory over Stephanie Dobbs, who was floored in the first round by Elena’s huge left hooks. Elena is a crowd-pleasing fighter with a huge following in Las Vegas and Arizona. When not training, she is a student at UNLV majoring in marketing. |
